Phil and Jordan
Firstly Phil, Just had a quick look at your site. You deserve a medal for services to history and your fellow restorers. what a help you must be to someone rebuilding a CMP.
Jordan,Are you familiar with a"Dzus" fastener (I think thats how it's spelt) any how they were used on Bedfords among other things. They came in two styles, firstly with the wingnut arrangement exactly the same as your fitting, and secondly, with just a slot for a screw driver or coin. The difference is the catch end. With the Dzus fastener, a wire is riveted accross the hole in the receiving panel. The screw has a helical slot cut into it's end. A quarter turn locks or unlocks the fastener. The screw part is usually located in the outer panel by a circlip. Yours may well be a variation of the Dzus fastener.
Is that clear as mud?
