Jan, good question! I'd say the RCAF (largely) followed British practice, overseas anyways. But from
R.A.F. Ground Equipment Blue - paint specification we learn RAF vehicles were blue-gray before WW2. But only after WW2 they were painted blue-gray (again), this time with black chassis, fenders, etc.
So who knows the whole story about RCAF vehicle colours?
