Many of the specialist bodies fitted to WW2 chassis were in the late1940/early1950s transferred to more modern chassis to give a new lease of life and obviously to keep cost down at a time when almost all items transport were made for export. These two photos show a body from a Ford WOT 1 6x4 mounted on the post war Fordson Thames the location shows this one up for auction around 1960. For those who like to model in 1/76 scale you can do no better than to utilize the Austin K6 from the Airfix RAF emergency set,the wheels are i suppose just passable but i never did think they looked right so produced and cast my own, the chassis and running gear is easy to adapt.
