Hi Keith;
After seeing your post I remembered something that happened in 1980 while the battalion was redeploying back to Canada from Norway. While at sea, the sailors aboard
H.M.C.S. **** painted the Recce Platoon Commander's Lynx 'Pink', which went un-noticed by the sea party until the ship docked at Montreal and our vehicles were unloaded for the rail portion of the trip back to London. Where they got or why they had pink paint aboard remains a mystery. Needless to say, when the train arrived in London, sh*t hit the fan. A year later, pink paint could still be found around the edges of the hatches. I remember that the paint was still tacky when the Lynx arrived here in London, I ended up with streaks of pink on my coveralls from the paint. It took awhile for Recce Platoon to live that one down within the battalion.
Cheers
