Kiwi Boot polish is an Australian product dating from before WW1, but oddly has no direct NZ connection.
This site says this about Kiwi polish: "Kiwi Shoe Polish - invented by Melbourne businessman William Ramsay together with his partner Hamilton McKellan in 1904 and launched as 'Kiwi' in 1906, this soon became and still remains the most successful shoe polish in the world. He chose the word 'Kiwi' because of his New Zealand wife."
Kiwi polish has been in service with the Australian Army for well over 90 years and is still in use.
