again frappe la route.....
....now we are off to our last stop in Rockwood.... to meet with Chris Vickery.......
Chris is the second generation member of a car club called the Ventures....... running since 1963...... the lucky memebrs ahve access to a garage with hydraulic lifts, wash booth, heated I might add, ample parking etc.....
Ther we loaded by hand....... thank God for the help of club members axles which had not rolled for a while, tons of loose parts and a complete cab 13.... again I emphasize by hand.
Almost 5:30 and we have everything lashed down with straps, chains, rope and bailing wire. A BIG THANK YOU to the beefy club members who there helping hand...... a note in passing ... by then I was tarting to fade real fast..... and a specific tanh you to Chris for his hospitality and more than generous fair deal..... the back of the Furd towing vehicle was considerably lower with all the parts.......
We stopped at a local "Casual Dining" in the Rock...... boy did we stand out....... This being Saturday night it gradually filled with local people, couple... all well dressed... and there we are looking like we really are..... two CMP nuts...... stuffing our face with waht truned out to be really good grub..... I mean meals..... and me blowing my nob into a ball of wet Klennex ebery five minutes...
So we hit the road again...... uneventful except for the long return drive.....grateful that the Winter storm that would hit Toronto Sunday gave us enough lead time to get home.
Rolled in my drivewat at 1:45 am Sunday morning.....
....tired yes..... but glad we did it again......
