Very interesting to me is that we have here some Thornycroft Hathi trucks of which there must not have been many made and they presumably stayed in OZ as they look in very good shape.

Bill,
These Hathis were bought by the Australian government so would have been disposed of over there. The REME Museum in England had one restored / rebuilt, from basically a bare chassis, some years ago and were desperate to find the correct engine, in the end a similar Thornycroft unit was found as a compromise. The vehicle had survived in the woods hauling timber out and had a Bedford diesel fitted when found.
