A Purely Hypothetical Question
Why is is that some will email you frantically about whatever you might have to offer, then ignore your replies totally? I'm a bit pissed off. I would have thought that common courtesy would dictate at least a reply to the extent that "I'm sorry, but I'm not willing to pay what you're asking... would you take this instead?". Or even "Sorry, not interested but thanks".
This situation seems unique to Canadians... I've never gotten such treatment from our American friends. I don't know how some of the dealers out there actually make a living without pulling their hair out by the roots. My hat is off to you for your patience.
Here's the drill:
(1) I have stuff you might want.
(2) You write to me.
(3) I write back, giving you a quote on what you want.
(4) You reply indicating that we can do some business, or not.
This is NOT rocket science. What part of 'common courtesy' did you not understand? I gave you the courtesy of first right of refusal, yet you ignored me. That does others a disservice as well.
I did just conclude a deal with a gentleman who understands this concept. Delightful chap who knew what he was getting and didn't quibble about price. I'd never met him before but I'm sure we shall become friends. To anyone interested in what I have, the ball is in your court.
Geoff
