Default the old digger in the carrier

The old digger 's name is Bruce Ryan he enlisted in 1941 and served until 1945. He served with the 2nd 7th armoured regiment until late in the war the 2nd 6th field company of the 1st armoured division. He spent his time in Australia manily western Australia in case of attack by the Japanese.

The first vehicles they had were ford 1 ton trucks then they were issued with carriers later they were issued with grant tanks and then the Stuart light tank, he recalls they had two types of Stuart 's one with a radial petrol and the other with a radial diesel, the diesel they started by using a blank cartridge . He also recalls using a rope, tied to the drivers lapel on his coat, to communicate as to when to stop or turn, later they were issued with intercom radios.

They also had Blitz's , 3 tonners , he recalls most operators preferred the Ford over the Chev.
