Default 235

A guy in town here has a very rough ex-yard crane CMP C60L with a 235 , he offered the 235 engine to me for free. He had plans to fit another modern engine and make up a 'highway friendly' CMP , he had new chassis rails made up and the only original CMP parts were to be the cab. Don't know what became of this project.

Thanks for that utube link, the valve stem/guide galling is something to be aware of but I've not seen it before. The old original guides are usually made from cast iron and you would think they would self-lubricate to some degree with the graphite content in the iron. The modern trend is to fit the bronze liners in the guides. In the case of the stuck valve in that video: maybe it was a case of the particular valve alloy being not suitable for the type of guide alloy ?
