Default Pump

I have had a few mishaps with these pumps.

Just a few thoughts:

If you have the original pump rebuild it. .. learn new skills. Buying another old used pump is wasting your money. The Carter pump would be OK quality and a quick fix.

The older NOS rebuild kits have good quality bearings... The modern new kits often have crap Asian bearings that will not last .

If you rebuild. Have the W/pump housing machined to take a modern 5/8 mechanical seal. Far better it will last 30 years and will not corrode. I did this mod.

In my experience the original carbon seals are unreliable.. if you park the truck for a long time the machined seal face corrodes and it will leak.

Radiator . I used a cheap Aluminium Hot Rod rad. Many of these in different styles are available on ePay. Make up or modify the mounts and it is done. As Bob C wrote : finding a good original radiator is near to impossible these days. Recore it will cost you a King's Ransome.
