The topic of making ex MVs more driveavle is always an interesting subject. 
Suppose it depends on your end game, whether or not your are a purist history buff or a guy that wants to drive something cool. 
As many of you know, I tend to favour the historical and correctly done restorations. 
If I were, to ever, even think about modernizations I think the concept of improving an original would need to be done with mil-spec parts and pieces. At least it would have the appearances of being factory.
