Boring limits
There is a theoretical limit to how far cylinders can be bored out, something to do with the heat transfer. If the cylinders are too thin, in theory, there isn't going to be enough mass in order to absorb and dissipate the heat into the coolant. Not sure if that theory is correct because in the real world thinner cylinders don't seem to be a problem.
A few MB/GPW Jeep owners have bored out to .060" without issues, the Jeep manuals recommend .030 max. But then again others have experienced heating issues that may or may not be related to thinner cylinders. Hard to say without a lab report !
