Default Crossley IGA3 Armoured Car

I found this in a friends old photo album dating from 1934 - 45.

It is AC2 a rare Crossley 6x4 armoured car of which just three were made and used by the RAF.

This I was told was the only know photo of this vehicle, with a round turret but I have just found another on the web! I guess it is the same AC2 vehicle. I guess both are seen in Aden circa 1936. The front 'mudguards' are a distinguishing feature.

I have passed my photo on to the UK Tank Museum and David Fletcher said it was unusual for Crossleys to be no good, and that there was problems with the drive train, possibly due to sand!

Also the extreme heat of the day explains why most of the crewmen prefer being outside!
