100 years ago today, November 10, 1920, the body of an Unknown Warrior was repatriated back to Britain. The destroyer HMS Verdun left the French port of Boulogne with the casket and arrived at the port of Dover. The procession left for London via train and the Warrior was laid to rest on the morning of the 11th at Westminster Abbey. His Guard of Honour comprised of 100 recipients of the Victoria Cross.
