In addition, one could specialize in an area, eg CEF or Imperial sweethearts (though Canadian sweethearts are getting tougher to find), or V pins or "My dearest" pins etc.

Hi Bill ... thank you again

This is an really interesting area. I've been surfing off and on today, Googlin' away ... searching things like "Canadian Sweetheart Pins" ... it sound like I should also search V PINS or IMPERIAL SWEETHEARTS PINS etc ... I never knew pins were made "specially" for the wives/sweethearts of soldiers. That's such a "nice touch" and I've never heard of that til recently.
Puts added meaning to the whole idea of "being pinned" by a sweetheart. How romantic and more meaningful when the pin comes from a love going off to war, meaning to return to his love ... "a promise" ...
"My Dearest" ... how lovely. Aw.
Well ... will surf for sites about these "tender" collectables then ...
