the late David Hayward registered a lot of Chev chassis and engine numbers. Most of his research can be found on our forum, but it is also displayed here:

If you scroll down to "1942 15cwt 4x4" you will find two trucks very close to yours. Both were assembled in Melbourne.

I agree with Grant on the winch. If the owner says it's a C60L or C15A, than it could also be a rare C60L with winch retrofitted with a C15A cab.
