Interesting! Was Clark Gable a real airforceman or just there for propaganda?

Tony Curtis (Bernhard Schwarz) joined US Army in 1943. What did he do?

Kirk Douglas (Issur Demsky) joined US Navy in 1942. I think he was an officer - possibly submarines or anti submarine warfare?
