Dear Ed and ensemble,
The extreme left of picture in your shot show some kind either narrow or wide track and one of them (3rd from left) has the water tank insert so I am thinking it is a wide track.
The other on the right are the older series of bigger trailers from the days of the Bedford RL and other vehicles of that era, Humber pigs etc. They were made with a rounded fender outside the tub of the trailer where the wide track and narrow track has the tub out flush or slightly past the wheels.
Those ones were made mostly by Rubery Owen I think you will find. The Australians also ended up with them.
Mine is, as you suspected, is ex BATUS by way of the fellow in Hudson PQ who cornered the market at this end of the country.
I have been watching it on Kijiji for a while and sloped off to the Bank Street end of your parish yesterday escaping the banana belt on the the ST. Lawrence for the chills of the National Capital area.
The price had come down from the original asking amount when it first went up but even then I did not pay the asking because of all the bits missing. I think they were tired of it and glad someone was prepared to pay money on a cold day. they wee doing no other business in the used car trade as far as I could tell.
