Default Training Rifle - Help Identify

Got this from an estate and the family has very little info on it.

Their father was in WWII but was a lifer. Was a training officer to both Canadian and British forces.

The gun is VERY heavy. The strap is very old leather with a hook to shorten the strap. The bayonet has a round end and she thought at one time it had a piece of foam on it. All steel and you will not break it.

Carry handle like FN and moves. Mag (structure) is wielded in.

Open to ideas or information on it.
