Default Re: vintage aircraft

Wow, thanks for sharing that, Norm - what amazing sights you have witnessed. I'd love to see some of your aircraft pictures some day.

Just an old vet reminiscing. I really enjoy your excellent photographs of the aircraft's you fly in. I well remember in the fall of 1940 being stationed under canvas in the Thames Estuary. One afternoon, hearing a loud droning sound that I had never heard before. This was the beginning of the massive air raids over England. Looking up, the sky was filled with German bombers. Then out of no where came the hurricanes and spitfires which became wildly embroiled in a massive dog fight with flaming aircraft spiraling out of the melay. As a young 18 year old even though death was happening to many of the pilots I could not help but be mesmerized by the site and watch it all happening. It was like I was watching a Hollywood movie. I live right next to the March Air force Base in California which has an excellent museum of all military aircraft and I often go over there and photograph them as I have been and amateur photographer most of my life. So I sure can appreciate the excellent photographs you have placed in MLU.
