Its Western life probably explains why the tub is so solid.
After about an hour of tinkering I have it running. Runs well and no smoke or weird noises. Not too bad considering it was last run over 6 years ago.
A couple strange items to note:
The original tub serial number plate is present, 99921 which is CFR 08715 as noted. The original data plates were swapped out for a set from 1967, likely sometime as I heard plates were often mismatched during paint parties.
The other odd item is a hinged grill. Maybe a replacement from a cannibalized jeep?
Everything else is for sure a 1970 model
