As shown in attached photo the earlier head gaskets had a trapezoidal hole in the centre whereas the later gaskets had a round hold which reflects the difference in the cooling chamber shape at the deck of the block of the earlier vs later flatheads.

Thank you for taking the time to reply, and putting the pictures up. The news paper that was in the box was dated 17th July 1944, but i guess there's nothing to say that paper was from the day it was packed. Thanks again for your time.
