Of Jewish descent, she lived in London during WW2, where she participated in the broadcasts of Radio Oranje, the Dutch government in exile, and was known as Jetje van Radio Oranje ("Jetty of Radio Orange"). Youtube has sound recordings featuring Jetty:

Besides being a singer, she was a driver in 3-ton trucks in the
Vrijwillig Vrouwen Hulpkorps, the Dutch WAC. Who knows, she could have driven CMPs!
