Cold and wet good time.
The big day has come and gone, and it was a success.
The day was cool and drizzly, so I did not get to give the Prince a ride in my Carrier, but the EKS allowed me to pull the 6-pounder in the parade. Lots of bagpipe tunes and drum playing along the route. Plenty of re-enactors, men in kilts, heck, there were even 2 soldiers in horseback - Boer war style.
What the Prince passed on the HLI gang eagerly exploited and enjoyed quite a long parade. 5 Carriers were able to make the trek, so the folks in Corowa should be able to muster at least that many, hopefully more!
The new police and militia centre is quite a marvel. The local and federal politicians have gotten together and funded a dual use facility that should be the envy of communities all over.
I will try to shrink down some of the pictures that were taken - I think that I even got one of Charlie Fitton and Perry Kitson together - to try and finally disprove the media idea that they are one in the same.
