Unit sign indicates Water Carrying Coy: 157 on Red Green diagonal background. Interestingly the placement of digits and diagonal appears to accommodate lower white band indicating Corps Troops, but the band itself is not present. Perhaps it was overpainted upon transfer to a Divisional unit. The white band system was abolished in June '44 instructions.
