The rear plate, the angle bit which is made into a square is for the bottle Jack and it's wooden footing plate... There are no chains used in the steering system however I can see the end of a clevis from a steering linkage bolted to the end of it.

DO NOT THROW ANYTHING OUT !

Mine was painted in red oxide like yours, as was Gordon's (his carrier being two away from mine) both our carriers are 42'ers

The tube holds the cable from the smoke discharger when it's mounted in situ... It's basically a bike brake handle and a cable....roughly translated !

I am only in Newcastle if you are up this way pop in ;-)
