The truck is not a CMP but in our association , we should be very interessed by an accurate answer about a hole in the tipper of a GMC CCKW353H1.
As can be seen on the photos attached, there is an opening on the floor of the cargo area. Each side of this opening is flanked with two small floors, each made of 5 small planks. This opening is puzzling : it jeopardizes the structural integrity of the cargo area and it opens on... nothing, not even the Hydrovac. The smalI wooden floors are also puzzling : what is the intent ? Why wood and not steel like the rest of the structure ? The opening as well as the small wooden floors are covered once the load limiting gate is flat on the tipper bed. I questionned many people about this puzzling device but never got an answer. Has anyone an explanation ?
Though we are not talking about CMP, I thought that someone might have an idea.
