As we all have heard previously. these British subs were problem plagued right from the get go.
According to W5, the British had mothballed them very early after commisioning because of ongoing issues and were well aware of the short comings they had. It was a case of spend their way out or essentially scrap them and hope someone would come along and buy them....
I was merely suggesting, albeit tongue in cheek, that it is ironic that sailor's superstition and co-incidence, whether human error or not, seem to play together.
