Boys rifle muzzle brake.
If you are lucky enough to own a carrier, and even more lucky enough to own a Boys rifle, but not lucky enough to own a Boys rifle with a round muzzle brake, then you know the frustration of having a 8 thousand dollar rifle that won't quite fit right into your carrier. A machinist friend of mine, who recently got into this hobby with his first M38A1Cdn3, decided to make a small run of these brakes using mine for an example. The brakes are a very complicated affair, with dozens of unnecessary radius and cuts, but he copied them all. So here for you entertainment are some shots of one of the copies in the white along with my original.
Question for owners of Boys rifles now: Does your rifle have a crush washer between the muzzle brake and the front sight? We seem to have a small gap between the sight and the repro muzzle brake. My original can't be used on the demilled barrel shown as it was altered slightly by the gunsmith who built my barrel and changed the thread pitch.
