I thought I woud share with you some of the photos taken at the new military weekend called "FESTIVAL OF HISTORY" held over this weekend at Old Reynella. As this was the first time this event is being held Each following year will have a different theme and held at a different location.
This weekend re-enactors covered various parts of history starting with the times of Knights up to WW2. Participating is a troop of Hussars, The Australian WW1 Light Horse, WW2 Allied and German vehicles, troops in authentic uniforms. One of our WVCG members set up his Blitz Radio Truck with working WW2 Radios for members of the public to view.
Next year the small village Old Noarlunga will be taken over by WW2 re-enactors battling it out with German troops in the town and there will also be Paratroop drops. The following year the theme will be on the coast to simulate the D-Day landings.
