Sorry Chris I have only a F150 and while good gfor hauling a mule or two, do not have a trailer for 55oolbs, but a good F150/1500 should do it towing wise, as your trailer will have the breaking power, your ovwerall towing should be ok, not stellar but ok, my truck has a rating to 7500pounds on its standard hitch and I do have the triton v8 (5.4L) so you may have some luck! Good luck!
