Hi guys
Yes I did think it odd how the Danish people would have reacted to a bunch of guys marching through their town in WW2 German uniforms. My old aunty in Hillegom Holland still gets upset when she hears Germans talking loud and yelling. She told me when the town was under German occupation for 5 years in WW2 that the German soldiers were always yelling...
I also had an interesting incident some years ago when I was driving in Amsterdam, my hire car had German number plates on it and some Dutch people were having a go at me, hey " Rot Moff" heb ye nog mie faders fietz ye heb gestolen, " English translation. "Have you still got my fathers bike you stole". Apparently according to my relatives when the German troops were retreating they pinched anything not tied down. However my altercation was quickly defused when I spoke to them and they heard my Aussie accent, they were all very nice to me after that. Some folk have long memories of the war and not all good.

Cheers
Tony
