Default Early GPS Unit

G'day everyone,

I am not quite sure where to put this topic so I thought I would try here for starters

A bloke I know sent me a couple of pics of an early military spec GPS unit that he found in a dump a decade or so ago.

He was wondering if there is any collector interest in something like this, or should he have left it where it had been thrown all those years ago - or are there lots of these units still around?

The make is Trimble. I did a bit of research and found that these were in use in the first Gulf War, and revolutionised the positioning of troops and vehicles in a fairly featureless desert.

Comments and questions welcome!

Jared
