Generally speaking, it seems not.
However, as discussed previously, I think this thread can be useful for a "I want... " approach. I have used this thread to notify other MLU'ers that I intend to bid, and, I have not bidded on items on the strength that someone else in this community called 'dibbs'.
Whether or not other people take notice, well...
