Default Eagle Mating Story

OK this one fits under slow news day or living a rural state - Eagle's Mating on the road in travel lane of the major east-west highway in New Hampshire holds up traffic.

No I'm not making this up.

Quote:
"BEDFORD, N.H. -- A pair of bald eagles landed on 101 in Bedford, forcing state police to close a lane of traffic Sunday morning.
A trooper noticed the eagles around 6:45 a.m. on 101 Eastbound just before it merges with the Everett Turnpike.
The trooper immediately began working to protect the birds, diverting traffic around the eagles.

It was a difficult task because the birds became increasingly agitated as cars went by, causing the eagles to inch towards the high-speed lane, said authorities.
The eagles eventually flew off after about an hour in the roadway and didn't appear to be injured, said officials.
Authorities said the weather conditions and relatively light traffic helped avoid a more tragic outcome for the birds."

The news reported that a State Policemen had stopped to protect and check on the birds who were busy on the ground. He called Fish and Game who came and said they're OK just leave them alone. After finishing the two birds flew off.
