Hi Keith,

Well, the model number is 30FAI and that covers a wealth of different cars of 1930's to 50's, Hillman Minx, Rover P1, Singer Raodster, Standard Flying 10, etc, as standard fitment. As replacements of other makes of carby, this model also fitted Austin Eight, Big Seven, Ten and some of the K2 and K4 trucks. all these will have different jetting and choke sizes.

I was slightly suspicious of the small letter "R" over 30FAI, so looked again in my Solex specification catalogue, for 30RFAI and bingo , it lines up with Morris LC, LCS and PV van of 1946-49. The specification number is S1376, not sure if that would be stamped on the carby, but might be on the label.

Incidentally, I came across the Solex catalogue in a secondhand motor bookshop in Sydney some years ago, a wealth of info, along with pocket sized AMF handbooks for Ford and Chevy Blitz trucks and Willys Jeep.

regards, Richard
