ooops, yes I meant Jordan......please bear with me, I am trying to get to grips with everyone. I have to say, that the 6v coil, with a lovely Ford Script on the top, started the Carrier perfectly. But that said, it did have 12v running through it. Anyway, I have now destroyed it and taken it to bits to try to make a 12v system. basically, by filing off the rivets that hold the coil to the base plate you can seperate the two. Then you can scoop out the inards of the coil which leaves you space to connect up the low tension and high tension systems. I have not quite finished this "mock up" but I am sure it will work . I have planned to bolt the original 6v coil back onto the Distributor and run the new HT lead out of the side of it. If it works I will add some photos, but to be honest, its probably best just to buy one of the purpose built adapters.!
