You are right, someone has dropped on a cab and made the cowl 'fit' Looks like late '42 or '43 as it doesn't have the early or late features.
If I was local and it was cheap I'd have it, as the cab has probably been copped to leave the original dash, instruments, and controls, all of which will really have appreciated being out of the weather for however many years the cab has been on.
