Oilite bronze bushes
As in Lucas Commutator end, armature bushes. Sit it on your thumb. Fil it with engine oil. Put your finger over the other end, and then squeeze. The oil will flow through the walls of the bush. Let it drain, and then install it.
Note. These bushes are sintered bronze. They are made frome small bronze balls, and have air gaps in them for the oil. This does not apply to other forms of bronze bush. I doubt that the bushes in the water pumps are made of sintered bronze.
