I've been reading this thread with some interest. My Dad spent some time along various parts of the South coast of England during WW II before departing for Normandy. He was a gunner in the 18th anti-tank battery of the 2nd Canadian division. I'm lucky to have a few photos of his military experiences. One is taken near Hirstmonceaux, Sussex in front of the "Tollgate Inn". A link to it will show the group including my Dad. The others are all unknown to me.
