Rounded hatch made of wood

I own a canadian FORD F60L with a circular roof hatch. Strangely it's made of a great number of woodies parts as seen on the associated pic. Nevertheless I think it's an original part because these truck commes from french NAVY and there were never rebuilded by french.
As I am restoring my truck ,I have downed the hatch and hope build an other in steel which should be more easy.
