Just did a quick search of my photo files and found the following.

It looks like two different types of upper brackets were used. The short kind with one notch is C01UC 105802/105803.These have a qty of 2 each. The longer kind like on my Carrier are TL5061/5062 have a qty of 4 each. However it says that when stock is depleted to use the C01UC 105802/105803

So I would guess that sometime in 1942 they switched over to the short kind at the top and used the rod to push out the back of the seat.

My carrier when i first got it had the long kind TL 5061/6062 for both top and bottom at the drivers seat. Not knowing what my hull number was but knowing it is within the same 100qty of the AntiTank carrier contract I would think the change over happend around then. The first picture posted is from a carrier near me that is part of the same contract but has had none of the coversion over to AT done and it has the short clips and the rod
