Winchelsea LP2? carrier
 

Back when I was younger there use to be a carrier in Winchelsea ( south west of Geelong ) in a playground next to the Barwon river. It sat there along with a 25pdr for years and then one day, it was gone. There was a picture of it in Military Machines International a couple of years ago taken by Ron Fry.
Does anybody know what came of that carrier?

There was one in the park at Colac also for many years I have not been there for many years I often wonder if its still there?

Hi Ron,
Didn't know that, I will check it out next time I'm down that way. If your refering to the park along the main street then I don't recall seeing it last time, it may also be gone. I'll have to crack out a street directory and look for parks.

Winchelsea carrier
 

I was speaking today to a chap on the phone who is a Bren carrier collector and blow me down. He not only knew of the winchelsea carrier but is the owner of it! It's funny how these things pan out. It's still in Victoria so those pesky border raiders haven't got there fingers in it. :D
