CMP 15-cwt dimensions: height to cab roof?
Could anyone please verify the height of a 15-cwt truck for me?
I have an opportunity to rent a new workshop for my F15A, but need to know if it will fit without canvas top bows. My F15A is currently in "deep storage" so I cannot access it to verify dimensions. Therefore I need your help to measure the height of a Ford F15A, from the floor to the top of the cab roof. Thanks! Hanno |

Dirk, Hendrik, thanks for posting and confirming the details!
Measurements for C15A / F15A Cab 13 with GS body, gleaned from several publications: - l x w: 171" (434,3 cm) x 88" (223,5 cm) - h: 90" (228,6 cm) to top of cab roof; 97" (246,4 cm) - 102" (259,1 cm) to top of canvas canopy, depending on the source. Hmmm, how come the height of these trucks always causes problems for storage?!? They should have been built with soft top cabs and fold-down windows. Thanks, Hanno |

Hanno,
In 1994 an Ozzie, Bob McNeill from Orange shipped TWO C15As to England in a 20' container for use and possible sale . They took the wheels of the first one and drove it in on the brakedrums, then with the cab top removed, backed the second one in somehow. After much drama with the shipping and unloading, they assembled them and used them for the 50th D-Day Celebrations. As they failed to sell, he had to repeat it all and ship them back to OZ. Cost him a mint overall. Regards Rick |
Stewart & Rick,
Thanks for showing me the option for "knocking down" a 15-cwt. The deal on the workshop fell through (owner wanted an arm & leg in rent). At 4 by 8 meters with a huge entry door it looked an ideal place. Driving it in on the brakedrums sounds like a bad idea. IŽll do the same as Stewart did: take the top off - duck! - and drive it into the garage. Cheers, Hanno |
