Ottawa Beer Call

When: Following the OMVA swap meet on Saturday - approx 1330 hrs
Where: TBA - prefer the Legion if they serve food. If not, then a local Kanata pub will do (we will ask the locals).
Why: Why not?

This is a "Beer Call" as opposed to a Gracie's Call due to it being held in the wild uncharted depths of Kanata.

The celebrity attendees so far:

Bob (The Duke of Hammond) Carriere
Grant (Gordon) Bowker (as long as he isn't paged away)
Alex (Mr. Manual - what does that really mean, Alex?)
Alex's guest - apparently owns a mil vehicle...
Rick Beaupre (Ottawa's formost female bikini wax quality control expert)
and hopefully some of the brave souls who hail from the centre of the universe (AKA Hogtown/Tranna/home of the hapless Leafs (sic))

Feel free to join us in the usual BS sessions.

I could be persuaded to attend beer call seeing as how I will be there flogging my wares anyway.

Couldn't be any clearer than that. That's the plan, Manual man.

I reckon any one of a number of the Rotters are also overdue for a good flogging, so you might as well kill two birds with one stone, Clive!

Clive,

Since when did you need persuasion for a beer call? Speaking of "wares", did you want Bob (he is closer to them...) to bring the books we were supposed to deliver to you last summer??

For all Rotters - I'll translate Geoff's utterance: "...the floggings will continue until morale improves".

Rob
I expect Terry Warner to pipe up..
I'm sure he needs some M38A1 parts so he should be there.

Let ME translate;
"I could be persuaded" Tr. You stand between me and the bar at your own risk.
"I will be there flogging my wares " Tr. I have a table 'cause it gives me a reason to stand there doing nothing while waiting for the next cute chick to stroll by.

That's the spirit! See you Saturday - I will be there arm in arm with my escort and the wife won't even mind...

OMVA Beer Call

From all reports, the OMVA event went quite well. Some of the usual characters made their appearances and sold some interesting wares.

Instead of trying to find a suitable pub off-site, we decided to stay at the Legion and sample their beer, fish and chips. The company was great, the food was good, the beer excellent, but the server was no substitute for the likes of Jessi...

Clockwise around the table...BooBee Carrier..listening to Terry Warner as Terry explains to Mr.CMP what M38A1 Canadians are...Little karki things with four wheels, one on each bottom corner...
Next is our own Professor Grant Bowker, calling his bookie for the two bucks on the Senator game to win...
Brian Asbury getting directions to the john from ,Alex Blair...Mr. Manual, who mistakenly sent him off to the parking lot behind a tree....
Next to Alex is an empty seat...honouring our missing men and women in the traditional RCAF "Missing Man" formation...also when not being photographed for historical posterity is Rob Clarke who warms that seat, official ROTters photographer and next to Rob..is Robs friend and little brother that Rob invests his time in with the Big Brothers ..and a job well done too Rob...
And next to Robs little brother is Newbie ROTer..Terry Werner..Newbie M38A1 owner..
A fine time was had by all..

My "little borther" is Rick Beaupre. Rick is blind but has amazing vision. He isn't into trucks too much as he says "They all look the same to me". I am proud to have Rick as my Brother.

One of the natural by products of these events is the interaction and intelligence gathering missions. We now have three potential road trips...don't tell the wives!

Well done to Eric Booth and company for this fine event.
