daft question

This may seem like a daft question for a seasoned carrier owner but here goes anyway... I wondering if the cam plate of a canadian carrier is affixed to the inspection panel in the hull and by removing this panel will I be able to access the cam and bearing? Just wondering how much needs removing to get at this steering cam?
kind regards

Cam plate

Yes Nick thats right but first you have to remove the two rods from the spider in the front that run under the seat, and connect to the cam plate.
Cheers,
Lynn.

cam plate

thanks lynn

I have a rust encrusted mess under the battery carrier, its hard to tell at first look, but is this battery carrier and the shield below all welded into place or bolted in? the cam plate seems rather inaccessible with this stuff in there

kind regards

They should be bolted, Nick,

so they can be removed to access the pivot bolts to adjust for clearance between the cam and rollers. It can't be done from underneath.

where can I see one?

thanks rob looks like a weekend job... I'm additionally interested to know where in the uk i may be able to see a real mk2 complete, i could do with a bundle of pics of an assembled vehicle. especially the engne bay. Is there one at Muckleburgh collection? or may be the tank museum?
kind regards

engine bay

If you look at post "how to clean a U.C. there are a couple of photo's of my engine bay it is original and you can see the bolts on the cover under the battery. I could get you more pictures if you like. just tell me what you want .When I took it apart a few years ago to clean that out I found that there was some sort of canvas under the cover but I couldn't get a good idea from it as it was too far gone.

bren mount

Here's another daft question, Were there any bren gun mounts on a MKII? And where were they?. I have never seen any. They were all over on the MKI.
