New Trucks from Griffith, NSW

1 Attachment(s)
I'd like you to meet a new friend of mine. Trevor is from Griffith & is restoring an F15. He is running a blog on the restoration at my shedfull website...
He has sent me photos of 4 different trucks, which I will post during the week.
Meanwhile, here's his F15 sunshine cab

Plushy 29-07-07 13:18

Your a tease Howard , you have more photos but only post one ?

Have you found any other F15`s up your way worth recovering ?

Howard 30-07-07 00:26

Plushy, time is a factor with posting photos. I will post them as I get a chance.

As for other F15's, well, sort of , no, maybe

Another from Griffith, C/- Trevor.
Seems to be an F60L repowered by something much bigger!
I have asked Trevor for some more photos of details (ie data plates).
Would I be correct in guessing this is a post-war build?

This is the only photo of this one, sorry..
Loks interesting though, ex RAAF?

(Sorry Plushy, no F15A's)

Plushy 31-07-07 13:15

Truck three looks like a Ford from what i can see of the grill . Looks like some one has looked after it a bit [possible resto ] Bonus it even has the spare tyre carrier .

Truck 2 has been altered a lot still it might have some usefull bits left on it .

Thanks for the photos

Dodge Blitz?

That repowered thingy appears to be Dodge powered. First Dodge Blitz I would think!

Plushy 31-07-07 13:27

I scored a pair of F15 trucks the other day just trying to get them moved home . But now i am keen to find lots of F15 parts :D

I'd say not a post war build judging by the front shell which is 1943, but the dash is 44-45 pattern so it may have been a bitzer.

Ugly lump of a sidevalve in there!

Could be - the colour is right. Also it's a timber dropside body like the other one you found recently - just missing the sides.

Plushy 31-07-07 13:38

I think the Tray sides are sitting on the back you can see the three pieces of timber that make the Fold down seat .

I can hear the 'Men at Work' song now in my head....

"Because I come from the land of plenty,
and he said oh, do you come from a land down under"

Howard you Found My Stash

Well Howard once you put up the Candian GMC I knew were you were snooping abouT. I had completed a deal with this Farmer only to have him give the cash back and ask for twice as much back. In fact you are just outside at small Hamlet not far from a town that ends in N.

Sounds like a right arse____. Sorry to hear about that Mark.

Howard 19-11-07 22:12

Buggere!

Sorry, Wusty. That would make you a bit peeved!
I have never set eyes on these trucks, I have never spoken to the owner(s), the photos were emailed to me from Griffith contact, Trevor.
Honestly I am not in the business of gezumping anyone... I am not cashed up!!

Rusty 20-11-07 09:28

No not peeved Just suprised

This stuff is well hidden from most, send me a private mail I am only after a few of the bits, but we may work together to put together a proposition to the owner rather than outbid each other

Hey Ryan - settle down. The farmer may have had a good reason. Also he may be an MLU lurker and read what you are saying and judge other MLUers through those comments. Experience has shown that the "softly softly gain trust" approach is the best as so many people in the past have been ripped off.

Yep

As Mark (Rusty) says:
"This stuff is well hidden from most, send me a private mail I am only after a few of the bits, but we may work together to put together a proposition to the owner rather than outbid each other"

I am interested.....I mayl help in a co-operative buy Just PM me about a part purchase & I will list parts what I am after.

Ian

Howard 22-11-07 23:07
