Looks like an advertising gimmick
AKA CMP cab 11/12 F15A, but the diffs aren't quite clear enough to tell the manufacturer.
Too good to waste in that role! |
Shocked

I was shocked to see this truck while passing by a few months ago. In a clearing right out of the blue. It's a 12 cab Chev 15 cwt in quite solid shape, the obvios conversions being modified 20" rims, a tube bumper and fenders in place of a box. The phone number is there for anyone interested. Maybe they will throw in the manaquin in fatigues on its roof.

Wheels
They look like 16" to me, Bruce...
But good to get a positive ID. |
12 Cab C15A - water truck (rare, very rare) on 20" wheels
Hi Art, Keith and Bruce
I don't believe this truck is as great as it appears in the photo but it is nice to see any CMP on public display. I think got dragged out, given a quick camo paint job, 20" wheels and made into the display in support of the US and the war on terrorism after Sept 11, 2001. Brian |
I've seen it before, as the outlaws live just off Lakeridge down by the lake. I took it for a water truck without the tank, but I've never taken the time to stop and look closely. It has indeed been there for several years now, I believe since before 9/11.
Brian, I thought you would have been well familiar with it given your locale!? |
16 vs. 20"
They are the original 16" rims...with a flange from a 20" transport truck rim welded to it.
(I...er...trespassed for a closer look). I can't speak to the engine/driveline, but the body panels are pretty good. |
Brian Gough is right when he says this truck is not as good as it appears. It is indeed a Chev and Geoff is right when he says its a water truck. I tried to buy it from Pat many times and we remain $100.00 apart. One of us is stubborn, I am not sure which. It has the incorrect engine but thats not really a detriment. When I tried to make a deal the last time he said " thats it, get the hot wrench and she's gone." Then 9/11 happened and he found a use for it. Now its not for sale. He removed it for a bit beacause someone stole the camo off the manequin. Now it is stapled on.
