'stan-ley cup?

While listening to the "Home Ice" channel on XM satellite radio (it's the only way to hear any hockey news now that the Stars are out of the playoffs) they mentioned that the Stanley cup was presently touring the troops in the 'stan. Anyone hear any news about this? It would be a great morale booster.

Thanks for the links guys! What a hoot it must have been for the troops to see the Cup and watch the game with the NHL "Old timers". Dave "Tiger" Williams is not just an exceptional Canadian, he's also a very regular guy. A lot of people don't remember that he had a significant career with the Canucks. He is also an avid hunter. I bumped into him several times at gun shows in Vancouver and he was always very friendly and approachable. He especially loved bow hunting. Good on all of them!

Team Taliban

Edmonton Sun featured a letter snivelling that the Stanley Cup should not have been allowed in a war zone as something bad might happen to it.

No mention of the dangers that our troops are facing every day or concerns for their welfare.

I was going to post the link, but I want the bad taste in my mouth to subside before I eat lunch...

Y'know, if Al Qaeda had half a brain, instead of planning to kidnap Prince Harry, they'd kidnap the Stanley Cup. Then they'd see the shite hit the fan!
